How to Be in Control of Your Circumstances
This post is going to resonate with a lot of people because when your life is out of control it can be hard to see the forest because of the trees.
I’m tearing up because this is a very personal post for me. I know what it feels like when things are out of control and they continue to spiral and spiral.
I also know the solution to this issue so that you can get grounded and stay grounded.
The solution does not resolve everything over night, but it does provide hope and adds to the momentum of positive change that you are seeking to create in your life.
The key is making a plan of action.
This may seem impossible to do when the world is falling down around you and you don’t know where to start or where to end, but you need to sit down and take a deep breath.
Here’s your plan of action to do list:
1. Stop what ever you are doing and grab a pen and a pad.
2. Make a list of everything that is out of control in your life.
3. If your list has more than 5 items, focus on the first two by answering these questions: What is the solution to this and what can I do to immediately change this?
4. Continue to take action and resolve those first two issues; once enough momentum is gained, and you feel grounded enough, go back to your list and repeat step 3 for the other items (remember, focus on only a few items at a time).
Finding someone to confide in and making sure you take care of yourself by doing something nice for yourself like taking or walk or soaking in the tub on a weekly basis will also help. The times when you are focused on comforting yourself may lead to more ideas about what you can do to resolve your issues.
Remember, I also provide debt and career counseling if your issues are related to these two areas.
Until Next Time,
